Meanwhile, Empress Lyric made Culturama history by becoming the first lady to win the TDC Senior Kaiso Monarch title, thus she is the first queen.

The competition was held on Friday, August 1^st and saw a total of eight calypsonians compete in two rounds of performances to claim the winning title.

At the end of the evening, Empress Lyric secured the crown with 792. Coming in at 1^st runner up was newcomer De Syder with 768 while the 2^nd runner up position went to Dis and Dat with 763 points.

Additionally, the Culturama Action continued on Monday with the Emancipation Jouvert Jump Up from Gingerland to Charlestown and the Herbert Beach Affair.

The festival culminated on Tuesday Aug. 5^th with the Street Troupe and Parade and Last Lap.
