Nevis’ Department of Education launched Back-to-School preparations with the 2025 School Leadership Summit at the Malcolm Guishard Recreational Park, on Tuesday August 19th.
Principals, deputy principals, education officers and Department officials from both public and private schools were welcomed back to duty during a brief opening ceremony.
Minister of Education-Nevis, the Hon. Troy Liburd, delivered the keynote address, expressing gratitude to school leaders and encouraging them as they guide the nation’s schools into a new academic year.
The 2025 summit was held under the theme “Own the Journey: Reclaiming Purpose, Restoring Passion, Renewing Practice,” will also serve as the theme for the 2025-2026 academic year.
Teachers and staff officially return to duty on Monday August 25th with the annual Back to School Convocation. However, classes for the new school year officially begin on September 1st
