Three Arrested in Nevis Cannabis Bust

Police on Nevis have arrested and charged three men following the discovery of cannabis at the Charlestown pier and later at a home in Craddock Road on September 5th.

 

Officers conducting surveillance at the pier reported smelling cannabis from Kimo Sancho of Craddock Road, who had just come off the motor vessel Lady-B. A search of his bag uncovered a quantity of the drug and he was taken into custody.

 

Later that day, police executed a search warrant at Sancho’s home, where Kurt Garnette Sr. and Kurt Garnette Jr. were present. Officers found sixty-five cannabis plants at various stages of growth in flower pots on the property. The plants were uprooted and seized by the Crime Scene Unit.

 

The following charges were laid on September 6th at the Cotton Ground Police Station: Kimo Sancho: Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply and Cultivation of Cannabis.

 

Kurt Garnette Sr.: Obstruction and Battery on Police, Kurt Garnette Jr.:Obstruction and Battery on Police.

Police say the operation reflects their continued commitment to cracking down on illegal drugs and keeping communities across the Federation safe.
