The St. Kitts and Nevis Defence Force (SKNDF) recently partnered with the Barbados Defence Force (BDF) in a Subject Matter Expert Exchange (SMEE), focused on sharpening skills, building knowledge, and deepening regional cooperation.

As part of the program, BDF Non-Commissioned Officers visited St. Kitts to conduct joint training and mentorship sessions with SKNDF soldiers. In return, members of the SKNDF traveled to Barbados, where they gained firsthand experience with the BDF’s operational practices, discipline, and approaches to military readiness.

According to a post by the SKNDF this exchange strengthened both forces, improving their ability to collaborate on regional security operations and humanitarian missions. More importantly, it highlighted the value of partnership in preparing for the challenges the Caribbean faces collectively.

The SKNDF stated that the collaboration serves as a clear reminder that regional unity builds strength, as well as fosters resilience, cooperation, and readiness across the Caribbean.
