As part of the 42nd Anniversary of Independence celebrations, several citizens of St. Kitts and Nevis have been recognized with National Honours for their dedicated service to the nation.
The Medal of Honour was awarded to:
Mr. Meredith Charles for Security and Defence, Ms. Joyah Walters for Health and Medicine, Pastor Clive Saunders for Community Service and Religion, Mr. Trevor “Marty” Huggins for Sports, Mrs. Etsu Bradshaw-Caines for Community Service, Mr. Washington J. Fraites and Mr. Lennox Warner for Business and Entrepreneurship and Mr. Stedroy Douglas for Sports and Community Service.
Meanwhile, the Companion of the Star of Merit was bestowed upon:
Pastor Leroy Benjamin Sr. for Religion and Spiritual Leadership, Mr. Goldwin O. Caines for Public and Civic Service, Dr. Jerome Thomas for Agriculture, Mrs. Lydia Thompson-Claxton for Sports, Mr. William V.A Hodge, Ms. Lozorine Williams and Mrs. Dorothy Clarke for Education and Academia and Mr. Franklyn Dorset for Law, Justice and Sports.
These distinguished honourees have been commended for their outstanding contributions to the development and progress of the Federation.
