Armed Bandits rob supermarkets in Old Road, lawmen “actively investigating” matters
Police are “actively investigating” two armed robberies that occurred in Old Road, St. Kitts, on Monday Sep. 22nd.
According to a police communique from the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF), officers first responded to a report of a robbery at Enping Supermarket in Old Road between 1:30 PM and 2 PM.
Preliminary inquiries indicate that an armed and masked male entered the grocery store and demanded money from the cashier. The cashier handed over a sum of money, after which the robber fled the scene.
Shortly thereafter, between 1:30 PM and 2 PM, officers received a report of a robbery at the Everyday LTD Supermarket, also in Old Road. Initial inquiries revealed that an armed and masked male entered the establishment, demanded money from the cashier, and then made his escape with an undisclosed sum.
The Crime Scene Unit of the RSCNPF processed both scenes and collected some items of evidential value. Anyone with information related to these incidents to contact the nearest police station or call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 707.
