Magnitude 4.1 Earthquake Recorded Near St. Kitts and Nevis
The UWI Seismic Research Centre (SRC) recorded a magnitude 4.1 earthquake on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 1:39 p.m. local time, 73km, north-northeast of Basseterre, Saint Kitts and Nevis.
The quake’s epicenter was located at latitude 17.94°N, longitude 62.57°W, with a depth of 10 kilometres.
SRC data also showed that the tremor occurred about 122 km northwest of Saint John’s, Antigua and Barbuda, and 133 km north-northwest of Brades, Montserrat.
Seismic activity is common to the Eastern Caribbean, a region situated along the boundary between the Caribbean and Atlantic tectonic plates. Such movements frequently generate small to moderate earthquakes.
