St. Kitts and Nevis continues to make significant strides in modernizing its education sector, marked by two major developments that underscore the nation’s commitment to innovation and collaboration. On November 13, the Ministry of Education joined other OECS member states in the historic launch of the Digital OECS Harmonized Primary Curriculum (D-OHPC), a groundbreaking regional initiative designed to elevate primary education standards.
The fully digital curriculum aims to provide equitable access to quality learning resources while promoting creativity, critical thinking, and adaptability among students.
Minister of Education, Hon. Dr. Geoffrey Hanley, hailed the initiative as a transformative step that aligns with the Federation’s enhanced curriculum and supports teachers through digital tools, AI-powered planners, and inclusive, blended learning options. “This is more than an upgrade, it is a transformation of how we teach, how students learn, and how we collaborate as a region,” he stated.
Meanwhile – The Republic of China (Taiwan) reaffirmed its long-standing support for St. Kitts and Nevis. In a meeting held on November 10th, Ambassador Edward Lin-Wen Tao presented the 2025/2026 funding for the Bilateral Human Resource Development Cooperation Project.
Acting Minister of Education, Hon. Konris Maynard, expressed deep gratitude for Taiwan’s continued assistance, which provides scholarships and essential teaching resources. Together, these initiatives strengthen the future of education across the Federation and the wider region.
