Over 115 Students Graduate from Police TAPS Programme
The National Intervention Team (NIT) of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force is reporting another successful year of its Teens and Police Service Programme – better known as TAPS – for the 2024-2025 school cycle.
More than 115 students from high schools across St. Kitts completed the programme, each receiving a Certificate of Completion and a TAPS T-shirt. Throughout the term, NIT officers led a series of interactive sessions focusing on leadership, conflict resolution, communication, problem-solving, respect and civic responsibility. Officers say students showed strong engagement and noticeable growth in confidence and discipline.
The programme was not launched at the Charles E. Mills Secondary School this cycle, but all other participating schools fully embraced the initiative. At the Dr. Denzil L. Douglas Secondary School, the graduation ceremony will be held at a later date, as facilitators continue to work closely with students to reinforce the core values of TAPS.
As part of a wider community policing effort, the National Intervention Team continues to support the nation’s youth by building trust, strengthening life skills, and helping to shape positive future leaders within the Federation.
