The Department of Youth has launched a virtual series dubbed “Launch Pad” as part of this year’s Youth Month celebrations.

The series seeks to provide a platform for young leaders, aspiring innovators, and passionate youth to explore opportunities, share experiences, and envision their role in shaping the future.

The pilot episode was aired on Wednesday, November 19th, 2025. The episode host, Ms. Akeda Nisbett led a discussion on the topic:“Youth in TVET: Shaping the Future with Technology”.

The guests were Mr. Steadroy Pemberton, an Architect, Mr. Donne Dyer, a Civil Engineer, as well as Ms. Hydeia Tyson, a Senior Agricultural Officer.

The panelists shared their journey into their career, the role and potential of technology in their fields and gave practical advice for other youths who have in interest in technical areas such as “never being afraid of failure”, “always continue learning” as well as “do research “ and talking to technical professionals.
