Nevis Public Library hosts another successful Tree of Tales Competition for 2025

This December, the Nevis Public Library’s “Tree of Tales” Competition lit up the holiday season, drawing 33 enthusiastic participants—double last year’s turnout. The event challenged readers of all ages to not only dive into books but also showcase their creativity through festive ornament decorating.

 

Among the youngest readers (Age 3-5), Kimaya Ward stole the spotlight, reading an impressive 38 books and creating a standout ornament. Zyan Clarke captivated the 6-8 age group with 28 books, while Narendra Boodhoo impressed both as a reader and ornament designer in the 9-11 category.

 

Aron Persaud and Imogen Archibald led the 12-16 and 17+ age groups, respectively, and teacher Tracia Chapman and her class was the standout in the Teacher & Preschool class with 11 books.

 

In the ornament category, Tahleya Phillip, in the 17+ category and Jaleel A. D. Jones for the 6-8 year olds were recognized for their imaginative designs, and special honors went to Teyanna Byron, Reginald Douglas, and Reetika Sahu for their creative contributions as well.

 

The library expressed heartfelt thanks to the public for participating and to the sponsors for a successful event. According to Librarian Swanston-Wilkin, this was the purpose:
