Minister with responsibility for Water Services, Hon. Konris Maynard, has outlined what he described as the most comprehensive transformation of water infrastructure in modern St. Kitts history, aimed at ending long-standing water rationing and securing reliable supply for future generations.
Speaking in Parliament, Maynard detailed major investments including expanded well drilling, island-wide pipeline replacement, new storage facilities, aquifer protection measures, and the commissioning of a 2-million-gallon-per-day desalination plant in Basseterre. Once current projects are fully integrated, over 70 percent of households are expected to receive 24-hour water service.
