RSCNPF Reports Successful Jouvert Operations

The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) says law enforcement operations during Jouvert 2025 were largely successful, with a strong police presence helping to maintain public safety during the December 26th festivities.

According to the RSCNPF, officers worked alongside members of the St. Kitts and Nevis Defence Force, conducting patrols, checkpoints, and stop-and-search operations across St. Kitts and Nevis as thousands of revelers took to the streets.

Police report that four individuals were taken into custody – one for wounding, two for disorderly conduct involving fighting, and one for driving without a valid license. One person received medical treatment in connection with the wounding incident.

The RSCNPF also says coordinated search operations on Nevis, including at ferry and water taxi points, led to the confiscation of weapons and prohibited items, including scissors, knives, makeshift weapons, ski masks, lighters, and a quantity of cannabis. Additional dangerous items were also seized during operations in St. Kitts.

While noting cooperation from the majority of revelers, the Police Force expressed concern that some individuals attended Carnival events armed with items capable of causing harm. The RSCNPF reiterated its zero-tolerance stance on weapons, violence, and criminal behavior and warned that offenders will be dealt with according to the law.

Police have thanked the public for their cooperation and say security operations will continue throughout the Carnival season to ensure public safety.
