Premier Hon. Mark Brantley. The project is being built with financial support from the Republic of China (Taiwan), while a Canadian firm has been hired to supply a cost-efficient prefabricated structure for the facility.

The Nevis Island Administration (NIA) has invested over US $260,000 in equipment, including a fully assembled processing line capable of handling between 700 and 800 birds per hour, a spin chiller, and an automated carousel cutting line designed to produce various chicken parts.

Once completed, the facility is expected to lower the island’s food import costs and strengthen food security by enabling poultry to be slaughtered, processed, and packaged locally. There are also plans to potentially expand operations to export poultry products to neighboring islands.
