The Ministry of Health-St. Kitts issued a statement, investigating an incident on the Psychiatric Ward of the JNF Hospital involving the subduing of a patient.

The statement said “a comprehensive review has been initiated as a matter of urgency. This process will examine all relevant clinical, procedural, and operational factors to ensure that the matter is addressed with the seriousness it warrants and in accordance with established standards of care.”

It added “We wish to assure the public that the Ministry is acting responsibly and deliberately.”

“Appropriate action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation. With a continued commitment to maintaining the highest standards of care, accountability, and professionalism within our health system”, MOH said.
