Recently, the TDC Group of Companies and the Skills Training Empowerment Programme (STEP) partnered to provide participants with practical training in résumé writing, interview preparation, and workplace readiness. The initiative was inspired by a social media post highlighting TDC’s earlier CV and interview workshops with students of the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College (CFBC).
STEP Reform Officer, Lucinda Francis said the collaboration addressed a persistent gap: many job seekers and even some staff struggled to create effective CVs. STEP Training Officer, Dawn Hodge Percival added that participants were eager to learn interview skills and build confidence.
The program combined hands-on CV exercises, mock interviews, and workplace tours, providing participants with exposure to real-world work environments. About 45 STEP participants and staff were involved in the double-session workshop.
TDC’s Chief Human Resources Officer, Gloria Esdaille-Robinson spoke about plans to expand the programme’s reach:
Gloria Esdaille-Robinson. Further, the collaboration between TDC and STEP illustrates how public and private sectors can work together to bridge the gap between training and employment.
