An interesting opportunity has emerged for school youths to be the “Minister of Education for a Day”. The St. Kitts and Nevis Education Media Unit in a release asserted that it is “a national initiative designed to empower secondary school students from ages 13 to 16.”
Held under the theme, “The Next Generation of Education Leaders Starts Here,” the challenge invites students to identify key issues in education and propose practical solutions, along with their expected national impact.
Participants have two submission options which are to create a two-minute video presentation titled: “If I Were Minister of Education…” or a 600-word written speech on the theme “Redefining Education for Tomorrow’s Leaders.”
Director of the Education Media Unit, Maria Crawford, described the initiative as a platform for youth development and leadership. “We are opening doors for young people to experience leadership, civic mindedness and responsibilityas well as to shape national development first-hand,” she said.
Participants stand a chance to win prizes, including the opportunity to shadow the Minister of Education for a day. Applications must be sent to: ministerofeducationforaday@moe.edu.kn by the submission deadline of August 7th, 2026. For further guidance, persons can call the office at 467-2409.
