The 5th Annual Whit Monday Medical Fundraiser hosted by the Butlers and Brick Kiln Communities drew strong public support this year and has been described as a success.
Held in Brick Kiln Village on Whit Monday, May 25th, the fundraiser featured breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner sales alongside live musical entertainment throughout the day.
Hon. Alexis Jeffers who spearheads the event spoke to the VON Newsline and shared that he is grateful to all patrons, volunteers and contributors who made the initiative successful.
He explained that proceeds, after expenses are deducted, will be donated to individuals undergoing medical treatment:
Hon. Alexis Jeffers. Since its inception, the fundraiser has reportedly assisted nearly 15 people and distributed tens of thousands in medical support over the past five years, amounting to approximately $70,000. Jeffers shared that this year’s proceeds are expected to push that total even higher, reinforcing the event’s growing impact within the Nevisian community.
