Saint Kitts and Nevis is joining celebrations for World Breastfeeding Week 2026 and is being observed now until August 7th under the theme, “Support Breastfeeding for a Healthier Planet,” highlighting the importance of breastfeeding in improving the health and well-being of babies, mothers, families, and communities.

To mark the observance, the Federal Ministry of Health has launched a Breast Pump and Breastfeeding Accessories Drive, inviting the public to donate new or gently used items to support breastfeeding mothers and families in need.

The donation drive runs until September 30th and welcomes contributions of electric or manual breast pumps, pump parts and accessories, nursing pillows and covers, breast milk storage bags or containers, nursing pads, nursing bras, breast shells, nipple care products, and breastfeeding books and educational materials. All donated items must be clean, safe, and in good working condition.

Donations can be dropped off at the Health Promotion Unit, all health centres across St. Kitts and Nevis, the Joseph N. France General Hospital, and Alexandra Hospital. For more information, members of the public can contact the Ministry of Health at 664-2276.
