St. Kitts and Nevis’ Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations, H.E. Dr. Mutryce A. Williams, has been awarded the prestigious Golden Gavel Award in recognition of her outstanding leadership as Vice President of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The honour was presented during a luncheon hosted by President of the General Assembly, H.E. Ms. Annalena Baerbock, celebrating members of the General Committee for their distinguished service.
Ambassador Williams earned the award after chairing more plenary meetings than any other Vice President during the session, reflecting the confidence placed in her to lead deliberations on international peace and security, sustainable development, climate action, humanitarian affairs, financing for development, and the Sustainable Development Goals.
Her leadership, marked by impartiality, sound judgment and a strong command of the Assembly’s procedures, helped guide constructive dialogue among Member States. The recognition also marks a significant milestone for Saint Kitts and Nevis, underscoring the Federation’s growing influence on the global stage and reaffirming its reputation as a respected advocate for multilateral cooperation and principled diplomacy.
