That was Premier of Nevis, the Hon. Mark Brantley.

His response came following a question from the VONNEWSLINE about the Concerned Citizens Movement (CCM) Party fielding any new candidates, whether for the local (Nevis Island Assembly elections) or general elections (National Assembly elections).

Mr. Brantley, who is also CCM’s Leader, has indicated on several occasions that an election is not near, though members of his party’s executive have had house-to-house visits to various parts of the island.

The local elections were last held in December 2022, while the general elections were held in August of the same year.
