A fire occurred at Nevis’ largest primary school: the Charlestown Primary, on Sunday afternoon Sep. 13th.
In an important notice to parents/guardians posted on the school’s Facebook page, Principal, Cheryl Haynes, said “We wish to inform you that a fire occurred at the school. The fire resulted in significant damage to the Deputy Principal’s office, which is occupied by Mr. Adonis Rivers.”
Consequently, the school was closed on Monday Sep. 14th and all students were required to remain at home.
Principal Haynes added “further information regarding the situation and the way forward will be provided as soon as more details become available.” So far, no injuries were recorded and the cause of the fire has not been determined.
While expressing apologies to the disruption of school, CPS Principal said they are working “with the relevant authorities to address this matter speedily.”
