As the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis, gear up for its celebration of its 43rd Anniversary of Independence, on Sep. 19th, the Federal Government has issued a public notice, debunking “false and misleading information is being circulated online.”
The poster, which was shared on WhatsApp and Facebook, says “Government of St. Kitts & Nevis Independence 43 reset, Workers Reset, EC $1000 to all workers and pensioners (registered with Social Security)”.
As such, “members of the public are urged not to share or rely on unverified information circulating on social media or through other unofficial channels”, the Government said on Sep. 17th.
In 2023, during SKN’s 40th anniversary of Independence, the Federal Government did pay a “Workers Reset benefit” whereby thousands of persons registered with Social Security, received EC $1000.
This time around, that is not the case. For accurate and authoritative information, the public is encouraged to rely on official Government communication channels for updates and announcements.
