St. Kitts and Nevis joins the world in celebrating the 60th anniversary of World Teachers Day.
World Teachers Day is celebrated annually on October 5th. The day is recognized to honour the work of teachers globally and the adoption of the 1966 International Labour Organization (ILO) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) recommendation, concerning the Status of Teachers, which sets benchmarks regarding the rights and responsibilities of teachers, and standards for their initial preparation and further education, recruitment, employment, teaching and learning conditions.
As teachers were celebrated on Monday, both Education Ministers in St. Kitts and Nevis, sent words of encouragement and commendation to all teachers.
