Following the cancellation of Culturama 2020 (C-46), Minister of Culture here on Nevis, the Hon. Eric Evelyn, has stated there will be no abridged version of the festival.
However, the event has been rescheduled for the 22nd of July to 3rd of August 2021.
This year’s Festival was cancelled because of the Coronavirus pandemic, which has also caused several cancellations and postponements of events worldwide.
Here on Nevis, the Gulf Insurance Inter-Primary School Athletics Competition alias Mini Olympics, which was originally slated for Wednesday, April 1st 2020, was postponed until further notice. The Agriculture Open Day was also postponed.
Minister Evelyn in light of the Festival’s cancellation, mentioned that the island of Nevis cannot afford to lower the Festival’s standard.
He also said that the Nevis Island Administration (NIA), was not happy with cancelling the event.
