Following the announcement by Prime Minister, Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris, that 1000 applications under the Social Security’s CoVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund have been processed, the Prime Minister said that the fund is the “most significant” one to date.

In partnership with the Labour Department, the Social Security Board will facilitate the payment of up to EC$ 1,000.00 monthly for three months in the first instance. Here is PM Harris:

The Social Security’s $15 Million Dollar Relief Fund was created to assist all working persons whose income has been directly affected by the CoVID-19 pandemic.

These include: Full time and part-time employees who have been laid off, employed but with reduced hours, persons made redundant as a result of the pandemic and registered Self-employed persons, whose income is impacted by the pandemic.
