“No cut off period within months of disbursement” under Relief Fund

He was speaking about the Social Security Board’s CoVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund.

 

In partnership with the Labour Department, the Social Security has facilitated the payment of up to EC$ 1,000.00 monthly for three months in the first instance (April, May and June). 

 

Beneficiaries of the fund include: Full time and part-time employees who have been laid off, employed but with reduced hours, persons made redundant as a result of the pandemic and registered Self-employed persons, whose income is impacted by the virus.

 

The Social Security’s CoVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund, was created to assist all working persons whose income has been directly affected by the CoVID-19 pandemic.  

 

So far, 4579 persons have had monies sent to their bank accounts and over EC $4.5 million dollars have been paid out.
