Federal Minister of Labour says agreements were made in order for nationals to participate in the SAWP

The seventeen nationals from St. Kitts and Nevis, who will be participating in the Caribbean – Canada Seasonal Agriculture Workers Program or SAWP, will depart the Federation on Thursday, July 16th, 2020 to work overseas.

 

According to Canada.ca, the SAWP Program allows employers to hire Temporary Foreign Workers (TFW), when Canadians and permanent residents are not available.

 

Managed by the Departments of Labour for both St. Kitts and Nevis, SAWP operates according to bilateral agreements between Canada and the participating Caribbean countries, such as St. Kitts and Nevis.
