November is Men’s Month and in light of this, the Department of Gender Affairs-Nevis will host a National Men’s Symposium on Thursday November 21^st, 2024 at the Malcolm Guishard Recreational Park from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The symposium will feature two sessions focusing on the topics of: “Redefining Fatherhood: Redefining Roles and Responsibilities in the Federation” and “Taking a Stance against Gender Based Violence (GBV): Men’s Focus on Protection and Provision.”

The VON Newsline spoke with Gender Officer, Verna Grant about the goal of this initiative and she stated: “What we’re trying to do is to hear from our men…. we want to hear them make these conversations… and help us to form policies…know the way forward…programs we need to run or not run and what we need to do as members of the society to help with our men and boys.”.
