Police have confirmed that an accident occurred this afternoon in the heart of Charlestown where a female pedestrian was hit by a vehicle where the ambulance had to be dispatched.

It is also understood that the female is warded at the Alexandra Hospital.

Unconfirmed reports indicate that the incident occurred on or close to the Pedestrian Crossing just in front of the Nevis Post Office.
