Activity at Mt. Liamuiga “is normal”, so says Director of UWI-SRC

A video depicting persons in the hot spring of the crater of Mount Liamuiga in St. Kitts, raised concerns earlier in the week of whether the general populace should be concerned.

Director of the Nevis Disaster Management Department (NDMD), Mr. Brian Dyer, told the VONNEWSLINE that there is “nothing to be alarmed about”.

Moreover, Director of the UWI Seismic Research Centre, Dr. Erouscilla Joseph, (who along with her team monitors the activity at the La Soufriere Volcano in St. Vincent), on Wednesday May 5th, said the activity at Liamuiga, is not uncommon.
