Airport Project: Landowners expected to receive payments this week

Premier Mark Brantley, on July 13th, 2025, gave this piece of information that would allow work on the Vance W. Amory International Airport to commence:

 

 

He also stated that when work at the airport is finished, it is anticipated that the island would receive flights from the US mainland particularly from the eastern seaboard one of the main markets which stimulates local tourism.

 

Additionally, Premier Brantley disclosed that all the final testing for a state-of-the-art 911 emergency dispatch system has been concluded and that it would go live soon:

 

 

Hon. Mark Brantley. The system would solve long standing issues such as emergency calls being picked up in St. Kitts instead of Nevis and ensure that persons receive the help and care they need in the smallest amount of time possible.

 

Brantley expressed his thanks to all stakeholders who worked on initiative including, Minister of Health, the Hon. Jahnel Nisbett and her team, Permanent Secretary in the Premier’s Ministry Wakely Daniel, as well as National Security personnel such as the police and the fire and rescue services.
