A statue to showcase Alexander Hamilton was officially unveiled on Friday July 22nd, at the Alexander Hamilton Museum, in Charlestown.
Alexander Hamilton was born in Nevis to a Nevisian mother and a Scottish father. He went on to reshape the American economy during his appointment as the first secretary of the Treasury and he is featured on the US ten dollar bill.
The statue is the only monument on the island which showcases Nevis’ most famous Son. Director of the Nevis Historical and Conservation Society, Ms. Jahnel Nisbett, said the statue is meaningful.
