The Alexandra Hospital through the Nevis Island Administration, has secured a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) Test machine that will allow for COVID-19 testing to be carried out at the Hospital’s laboratory on Nevis.

Premier and Senior Minister of Health, Mark Brantley, made the announcement on Aug. 26^th:

The PCR testing machine comes as the island of Nevis is dealing with an uptick in Covid-19 positive cases.

Mr. Brantley also stated that the Local Cabinet approved the recruitment of two PCR technicians to operate  the new equipment at the Hospital:
