Almost $100 K worth of groceries distributed to most vulnerable persons on Nevis, amidst COVID-19 pandemic
Here in St. Kitts and Nevis, efforts have been made to assist persons affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Efforts include: the St. Christopher and Nevis Social Security Board’s COVID-19 Emergency Fund, designed to assist all working persons whose income have been directly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Beneficiaries of the fund included: Full time and part-time employees who have been laid off, employed but with reduced hours, persons made redundant as a result of the pandemic and registered Self-employed persons whose income is impacted by the pandemic.
Also, Cabinet Ministers within the Nevis Island Administration (NIA), deployed personal resources of $EC 13, 500.00 worth of groceries for three (3) months.
