Following the most recent murders in St. Kitts, Commissioner of Police (COP), James Sutton, spoke of plans to deal with the spike in violent criminal activity on Monday Apr. 20^th.

A press release said that Jerod Robert Stapleton, also known as “Jay Bay,” of Ottley’s Village, St. Kitts, was gunned down on Saturday Apr. 18^th, between 7:30am and 8am.

He had left his residence to visit his farm but upon arrival, he was accosted by one or more-armed assailants, who discharged firearms at his vehicle. Mr Stapleton sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the head and upper body and was pronounced deceased at the scene. This was SKN’s 3^rd homicide for 2026.

Then, lawmen confirmed that a young man was fatally shot at a night club at Lime Kiln St. Kitts, on Monday Apr. 20^th: the 4^th homicide for the year. No further details were released. Nonetheless, during the Police Force’s press conference on Apr. 20^th, Mr. Sutton mentioned further efforts to help reduce criminal activity.
