Anguilla man charged with Cannabis Importation Offences

Lawmen have laid five (5) charges against a man from Anguilla following the discovery of suspected contraband during a routine vessel search.

 

On September 2nd, 2025, officers of the St. Kitts and Nevis Customs and Excise Department conducted a routine inspection of a motor vessel that had docked at the Charlestown Pier, Nevis. During the search of Cadeem Daniel’s luggage, officers uncovered three (3) plastic bags containing vegetable material suspected to be cannabis.

 

The matter was immediately reported to officers of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF), Division “C” (or Nevis Division), who responded promptly and took both Mr. Daniel and the suspected contraband into custody, where subsequent testing confirmed the material to be cannabis.

 

The following are formal charges which were laid by both the RSCNPF and the Customs and Excise Department on Sep. 3rd: Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply (RSCNPF), Importation of Cannabis (RSCNPF), Importation of Restricted Goods (Customs Dept.), Importation of Goods Packed in a Manner to Deceive Customs Officer (Customs Dept.) and Counterfeiting Documents (Customs Dept.).
