“Any questions should be directed to my lawyer” says Minister Grant

Federal Minister of Tourism et.al, the Hon. Lindsay Grant. His comments on Tuesday, February 22nd, were in reference to a matter involving him accosting police officers on January 8th 2022, at the Last Lap Bar in Bird Rock, St. Kitts, based on videos that went viral on social media.

Since then, Minister Grant in a statement last month, said “fully support” the efforts of the police “in the preservation of law and order.”

The High Command of Police Force commenced an investigation into the incident and in an update on Feb 10th, stated that the file on the matter, is before the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Mr. Valston Graham.

One week later, on Feb 17th, Mr. Graham issued a press release, stating that “as DPP, I AM NOT the Competent Authority to decide whether the Honourable Lindsay Grant should be charged with obstruction, assault and battery offences” as “it is and has always been within the powers of the police whether to charge Mr. Grant.
