The Appropriation (2026) Bill, 2025 was passed into law in the National Assembly on Friday, December 19th. The Bill is to provide for the services of Saint Christopher and Nevis for the financial year commencing January 1st 2026 and ending on December 31st 2026.
It is also to the tune of EC$ 1.075 billion (which is for recurrent expenditure, capital expenditure and net lending), which is a reduction of $25 million when compared to 2025 Budget (EC$ 1.1 Billion).
It was passed in parliament for a period of four (4) days, from the 2026 Budget Address by PM and Minister of Finance, the Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew, the rebuttal by Leader of His Majesty’s Loyal Opposition, Nevis’ Premier the Hon. Mark Brantley and debates by parliamentarians.
With a total recurrent, capital and net lending charges on the consolidated fund of EC $948,922,075, and a total provided by law of EC $126,129,550, the Bill made provisions for the several ministries and departments including but not limited to: Governor-General; Parliament; Audit Office; Justice and Legal Affairs; Prime Minister’s Office; National Security and Public Infrastructure.
