Authorities at Ports should adhere to social distancing protocols

“Is there anything in place to ensure that persons follow the social distancing protocols, as they await to board ferries here in St. Kitts and Nevis?

 

That’s a question the VONNEWSLINE posed to Nevis’ CoVID-19 Task Force.

 

Social distancing, also called physical distancing is a set of measures taken to prevent the spread of a contagious disease by maintaining a physical distance between people.

Statutory Rules and Orders (SRO) No. 15 of 2020 regulations, section 7 (Social distancing and physical distancing protocols), states “any establishment, that is permitted to operate pursuant to the provisions of these regulations, shall make the necessary arrangements to facilitate social distancing and physical distancing”.

 

For instance, ensuring that all customers and staff maintain physical distancing of at least six (6) feet in or outside of their business, or if in a line to enter the business.
