BBW JAD Cash Initiative: “Who really wants it”, PLP’s Leader asks

Almost EC $10 million have been disbursed to citizens and residents of St. Kitts & Nevis, under the Federal Government’s Budget Boost Wallet (BBW) initiative, (for the period January to February 2025), according to Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, the Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew.

 

BBW is a short-term financial relief, which offers EC$250 monthly for the first six months of 2025 to individuals earning EC $5,000 or less in gross income per month. The monies can be used to purchase food, pay utility bills and mortgages through a platform powered by JAD: a local digital service provider.

 

But who does not qualify for the BBW? Persons earning more than the $5000 threshold, Pensioners and anyone who has not paid Social Security since January 2024. People’s Labour Party (PLP) Leader, the Hon. Dr. Timothy Harris, expressed his views on the BBW in general:
