Bidding process for the Drilling of Nevis’ geothermal project to end on March 9th
Premier and Minister of Public Utilities and Energy (Nevis), Dr. Hon. Mark Brantley, giving an update on the bidding process for the drilling of Nevis’ Geothermal Project.
The Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) approved US$17 million in funding for the project in December 2022. The production drilling phase is set to begin in June 2023 and is anticipated to last six months.
The drilling will also comprise of three production wells and two injection wells at Hamilton, Nevis.
The Nevis Island Administration (NIA) will begin the second phase, constructing a Geothermal Power Plant with a capacity of 10 Megawatts once that drilling is successful.
