At the Malcolm Guishard Recreational Park, on May 13th, Minister of Health, Gender Affairs, and Social Empowerment, Hon. Janel Nisbett, celebrated the achievements of young males across Nevis, during a ceremony recognizing the 2026 Boys of Excellence.

Speaking to parents, teachers, dignitaries, and well-wishers, Minister Nisbett emphasized that true excellence extends beyond academics and athletics, reflecting character, integrity, and the support of a nurturing community. “This initiative shines a light not only on the good but the excellent,” she said, noting that 14 exceptional boys, one from each school, were selected from a highly competitive field.

The awardees included Cleston Bartlette (Gingerland Secondary School), Kymarni Newton (Charlestown Secondary School), Jedaiah Carter (Nevis International Secondary School), Izariel Webbe (St. Thomas’ Primary School), Naiim Morton (Montessori Academy), Ezra Hanley (Ivor Walters Primary School), Jah-Lique Chambers (Charlestown Primary School), Kemarii Reede (Maude Cross Preparatory School), Aaron Daljit (Joycelyn Liburd Primary School), Hazo Ottley (St. James Primary School), Teadrian Tross (Elizabeth Pemberton Primary School), Elvorn Herbert (Violet O. Jeffers Nicholls Primary School), Kyran Hendrickson (Cecele Browne Integrated School), and Kaijay Powell (Nevis Academy).

The awards coincide with the International Day of the Boy Child on May 16th, founded in 2018 by Trinidad and Tobago’s Dr. Jerome Teelucksingh to encourage boys to grow into men of honour and integrity. Minister Nisbett urged the recipients to inspire peers and live up to the title of Boys of Excellence.
