Nevis is making efforts to improve food resilience with continued work on a broiler production and processing facility, according to Agriculture Minister, Eric Evelyn. He spoke about the facility during his feature on the Government at Work Programme on April 9^th, 2026:

The initiative forms part of a broader push to strengthen the island’s agricultural capacity and reduce reliance on external supplies.

When completed, the facility is expected to support local meat production and create new opportunities within the farming sector. Authorities have also indicated that complementary plans are underway to expand poultry farming with land available in Webbe’s Estate for persons who are interested in this new project.
