Budget Boost Wallet (BBW) initiative continues

As the Federal Government’s Budget Boost Wallet (BBW) initiative continues into the ensuing months, the date to receive January’s payment has passed, which was Jan. 30th, 2025.

What does this mean? According to Cabinet Secretary in the Federal Government, Dr. Marcus Natta, there are “no retroactive” payments, for example: anyone who did not sign up in time by Jan. 30th will not receive for that month “as the money does not roll over into February, if you missed January”, he explained.

However, interested persons can still sign up for the ensuing months. BBW is a short-term financial relief, set to benefit over 22,000 citizens across the Federation. It offers EC$250 monthly for six months to individuals earning EC $5,000 or less in gross income per month.

The funds can be used for essential expenses such as food, utilities, and mortgages through a seamless and secure cashless platform powered by local digital service provider JAD. The JAD app is available for download on mobile devices via Google Play Store.

For assistance, individuals can contact the Ministry of Social Development at 467-1370 or 662-5993 (persons can WhatsApp as well).
