Budget Day on Nevis is February 20th 2023

Premier of Nevis and Minister of Finance, Hon. Mark Brantley will present the 2023 Budget at a Sitting of the Nevis Island Assembly on Monday, Feb. 20th, at 10 a.m.

 

 

 

It will be held at the Nevis Island Assembly Chambers at Hamilton House in Charlestown. Initially, it was slated for Monday, February 6th.

 

 

 

This will be the 2nd Sitting of the year, which will see the newly sworn-in President of the Assembly, Hon. Michelle Slack, presiding over the proceedings with Clerk of the Assembly, Ms. Myra Williams. The 1st Sitting was held on Jan. 19th, 2023 which was the Opening of the New Session of the Nevis Island Assembly and came following the Dec. 12th, 2022 Nevis Island Assembly Elections.

 

 

 

Last year’s Budget or the Nevis Appropriation Bill (2022) 2021, was to the tune of EC $229.04 Million dollars.

 

 

 

The Appropriation (2023) Bill, 2022 (or the Federal Budget) was passed into law on Dec.19th, to the tune of EC$ 1.02 Billion. The Feb. 20th Sitting will be carried live here on VON Radio (860 AM) and vonradio.com.
