On Friday January 3rd, a small ceremony was held at the Nevis Public Library to recognize the awardees of the Nevis Public Library’s “Tree of Tales” Competition, held during December. It involved several age group categories, where the participant who read the most books and decorated the best ornament, would obtain a prize.
The awardees for most books read are as follows: ages 3 to 5 – Zyan Clarke, 6 to 8 – Shwara Swaminathan, 9 to 11 – Advith Swaminathan, in the 12 to 16 category is Safira Durant, and for 17 and over, Talia Phillip.
For the best decorated ornament, Reetika Sahu earned the title in ages 3-5, Jaleel Jones for 6-8, with an honorable mention of Kiara Warner in the same category. Safira Durant, again, earned another title in the 12-16 category, while Shannon Morton earned the best ornament for those participants, aged 17 and over.
