National Bullying Prevention Month takes place each year in October to bring global awareness to the issue.
This year, the Department of Youth and Sports on Nevis has announced that Bullying Awareness Day will be observed on Thursday, 24th October 2024, and celebrated, under the theme: “Uniting for Inclusion through Bullying Prevention.”
The theme is chosen to embrace diversity, which will allow children to feel safe, especially, if they are of different ethnicity, social status or have a disability that could make them feel as if they would be treated differently to other students.
Senior Youth Development Officer, Cordicia Walters gave the VON Newsline more details about the initiative:
Everyone is encouraged to wear white (today) Thursday, 24th October 2024, to support the eradication of bullying.
