According to information from the St. Kitts and Nevis Bureau of Standards (SKNBS), all businesses across the Federation must follow mandatory labelling regulations, now in effect, following the December 31st, 2025 deadline.
According to the Bureau, the regulations apply to all goods sold in St. Kitts and Nevis, including items that are locally produced, imported, or sold informally. This includes roadside vendors, caterers, and local manufacturers.
The SKNBS says businesses are required to comply with regulations governing the labelling of goods, pre-packaged foods, and bottled water.
Pre-packaged items must clearly display required information such as ingredients, expiry dates, and other consumer safety details.
The Bureau emphasizes that roadside vendors and caterers who sell pre-packaged meals or beverages are not exempt and must now meet the same labelling standards.
The SKNBS warns that non-compliance may result in fines, seizure of products, or suspension of sales, as enforcement activities continue.
Businesses seeking further information are encouraged to contact the St. Kitts and Nevis Bureau of Standards at 467-1498, email sknbs@gov.kn, or visit www.sknbs.org and click on the regulations tab.
