The Soca and Kaiso monarch Semifinals were held over the weekend, as the official start of Culturama 49 approaches.

For the Soca monarch the finalists are: Groovy category-Speedy, Hollywood, Soca Empress, X-man and Delly ranks, Nickhail and Pakiss. The reigning monarch is Blade.

For the power category- Keedo & Hollywood, AdowaH, Jeezy Sparta, Daddy Tustee, Soca Empress, Speedy, Westside and Rocco Dan.

And for the Calypso: King Hollywood, King Dis N Dat, Nutsy, Murray, Sookie, Baker, Invincible and Empress Lyric (alternate). King Astro is the reigning monarch.

The Soca monarch finals are slated for Thursday August 3rd and the Senior Kaiso monarch finals will be held on Friday August 4th.

The official launch of Culturama 49 will be held on Thursday July 27th. C-49 will be held from July 27th to August 8th
